This vs. That

looking at this camera compared to the other one I posted, there is a huge difference. This image, like the other is still very crisp and sharp looking. There is color in the lens and the viewer is really able to see all the depths and curves in the camera. But there is no fancy reflection or backdrop. It is almost like this camera was photoshopped onto a white background, which isnt bad. That is the difference between really trying to sell your product through a fancy high end advertisement, or just placing your product in a magazine. The images are still really prim and proper but they way you approach the whole process is different.

Kettle Product Shot

Now for kitchen supplies and things not as high end, the product shot is more simple, because it just needs to be good enough for a magazine, advertisement or website. The image is still really clean adn crisp and adjusting the lighting Im sure is still a pain, but there arent many fancy backdrops and lighting effects to make the image pop because this image will be seen at a quick glance to millions of customers as their scrolling through a magazine. That being said, this shot is really well done. There is really no shadow at all besides the shadow below the kettle. The glares accentuate the image rather than distract you. This is more along the lines of what i'll be capturing for our "walmart" advertisement.

Camera Product Shot

I love the reflection of the camera in to the surface it is sitting on. This image is extremely crisp. The backdrop is extremely important in really allowing the image to pop. This person went with white obviously because the camera is almost black. I love how the only cast of shadow or reflection in the image is the camera directly below. The lighting on this is done so wonderfully. I also like how the photographer was able to capture light coming into the camera lens. It adds a pop of color to the dull black and white images, and really excites the viewer to see something different.

Gucci Product Shot

Beautiful lighting on this cologne. Once again you are able to tell this is a higher end product by the dark colors and the high contrast in the cologne bottle and the lights. I love all the different reflections in the bottle. The lighting is awesome and this image really captures your attention. I love the radial light coming from the center. It really shows the viewer that this product is the main center of attention and your eyes begins to rest as it leads off the page into the darkness.

Wine Product Shot

I am not a drinker, but I LOVE how many alcohol companies shoot their product shots. They all give us such delicacy and wealth. The colors and lighting is rich and pure. I love how in this one their is the red lights in the background to really bring you attention to the bottle of wine. The image is so crisp and clean with glares only on the sides. The lighting is spectacular and It really gives the evening, party feel to the viewer. It shows off high class easily with the colors and the way the shot was taken.

Covergirl Jessica Stam

One thing I really need to focus on when I am shooting my covergirl AD, is what I can use in the image to accessorize and accentuate the faces, and what color I want the backdrop to be. This woman REALLY pops, because she is in high contrast to the black background. It gives the image an evening and fancy feel to the image. Her pale skin, blue eyes, and accents of red really pop out from the background. You are instantly drawn to her face and the perfections of her skin. It is a lovely shot and it is all things I need to think about for my shoot.

Covergirl

As I am looking over the covergirl ads, I noticed all of them are up close, facial and personal images. They really capture the colors of the face and really accentuate the makeup the person is wearing. Covergirl sells makeup, so of course they want the face to really pop off the page more than anything else. I love the colors in this photograph. The background being blurred is beautiful. I would say this was taking for May a spring catalog or summer. The woman's face really pops and her makeup is beautiful. These are all things I need to keep in mind when shooting my covergirl.

Old photo-woman

This just amazes me what people are able to do. This image looks like it was taken in todays time but had a filter added to it to give it the age look. The artist did such an amazing job. They really brought out the features of this woman's face. It amazes me how light color the original image had and how many cracks there were, and how the artist was able to create such a different cleaner image, while still keeping it similar to the first. The hair, the eyes, the backdrop, the shirt, just everything! It is done so well and I would love to re-create something as well as this.

Old Photo-man

The most common thing I continue to see in restoring old photos is that the older one is very dusty and has an extreme red hue to the image. This artist did an outstanding job at bringing the image, and the man back to life. His eyes say so much more now than they did before and even the background has more depth to it. It has a tint of green in the corrected photo but i thin that works really well and it helps bring out the man's eyes so much more.

Old photo

This is a very impressive photo correction. There are so many different level problems in the old photograph and the artist was able to really extract the true colors that really came to life at the time the image was taken. I love how the car is so much more crisp now and how you are easily able to tell the time of day and what everyone was wearing. In the first photo, it was very difficult because everything had such a red tint to it.

Chalk Life

This image is beautiful. I love all the color is captures. To me this could be an image describing life. Our lives are so colorful and full of adventure whether we see it that way or not. Each day is something new, something different: a new color. We have bad days but we have to remember that each day ends and if God wills it, we wake up to a new one the next morning. Given new chances. This image can describe all that if you really wanted to stretch it but i think this photograph is very beautiful.

Divergent boy

Now it isn't like I will be able to capture an image life this, but this is once again what I would see being described as divergence. This young boy is acting out so differently than the rest of his peers. He is standing up while the rest bow down. He is making that stand to being different whether he knows it or not. This image could be completely fake and photoshopped but It is still a good example of a divergent photograph.

Technology CD

I l love this Idea for a photo of technology. The technology of music/hard drives have developed so much over the years. This captures alot because as time evolved so did the compact CD. I love how this CD was able to be lit up in such a pleasing way that it shows so much color. The touch of water on the CD really helped the image be much more visually interesting. It is a very good idea to make a dull looking piece of technology to be very bright and colorful. It is very interesting to look at.

The Typewriter

This image works really well in capturing history. The typewriter is placed in a grungy looking building with the wooden shelves in the background. All the brown colors tie in very well to give it that very old feeling. Even though the typewriter is placed right in the center, It still works really well. I like how is is faced on an angle. You are really able to see the wear and tear this typewriter has gone through. I think the photographer did a nice job really finding a good setting for the typewriter and capturing that old history feeling.

History Teal Bowl

I think this image works well for being posted as an image of history. It shows the old grainy white table with the teal colored bowl. Back ago, I feel like teal was them ultimate color for many things. It was very popular and used alot in homes. I see it in my moms old furniture and at my grandmothers house. There is a nice touch of color to this photo with the pink flowers and the old keys really ties it all in together. The lighting is excellent and you are able to see everything so clearly. It is a lovely photograph.

Cone Divergence

The idea of a traffic cone being in the middle of a crowd of people could work too. It is sticking out from everything else and it doesnt belong where it is. It is in a very unique spot. It would be interesting to take a cone and set it right in the center of the road, because by doing this it will be out of place and cause cars to diverge in different areas because the cone is in a weird spot. I dont know, It is just some ideas I am throwing around.

Purple house

This is another great example of what divergence means to me. This one works nicely because it isn't set up or posed in any certain way. The artist was able to find it and make it work for my definition. The purple stands out from the rest of the greens and is shouting to be different. It works really nicely with what i think the definition is.

Divergence shoes

This photo is a very cool idea of what divergence means to me. When I read the definition and knew I had to find something to photograph, I feel like this represents it because it is someone standing out differently than the crowd. They are taking that step forward to be different. This image is obviously posed but the lighting is done so nicely and it is just a beautiful image. I also like how the one standing out isnt centered.

Rainbow Panorama

This image is beautiful. In my opinion, a panorama of nature really describes life to people because it shows the things we wake up to everyday and shows it in a beautiful way. This image with the rainbow reminds us of the circle of life and how when it rains we can be reassured from all the negativity that something beautiful will come out of this. I love the colors in this image and all the transitions in moods.

Panorama City Scape

The quality of this image isnt the best, but this panorama of the city is absolutely breath taking. I love the angle the photographer was able to get at and the bright light reflecting in the sky make the image very nicely lit. I like also how the road curves reflects a green color giving the image that certain pop of color.
